FAQs

If you sold your vehicle with your eFlow tag still inside, you can order a replacement tag for your new vehicle by logging in to your account.  This order will automatically deactivate the existing tag.

Please note: You will incur a fee of €20.00 plus VAT for the replacement tag which will be charged to your account.

If you’ve recently sold your vehicle, the Department of Transport should be informed so the National Vehicle and Driver File (NVDF) can be updated, as eFlow cannot update these details. However, once the NVDF records have been updated, our records will update automatically.

Your tag should beep when you pass through the toll.  There are multiple reasons why your tag may not work:
   • Your account may be suspended, log in to check and reactivate
   • Your tag is faulty or has a low battery, log in to order a new tag 
   • Your tag may be incorrectly installed, see below for more information
   • Your tag is not assigned to the vehicle that passed through the toll, log in to switch to the right vehicle

Tag Installation

The correct installation of your eFlow tag is essential to ensure it is read correctly. 
   • Cars/vans: Attach your eFlow tag high up on your windscreen, ideally centred and just beneath the rear-view mirror
   • Lorries/buses: Attach your eFlow tag on the bottom centre of the windscreen
Please note: Some windscreens have a metallic layer to reflect heat from the sun. The eFlow tag must be placed within the areas of the windscreen without this coating. Such areas are normally marked with a different colour or pattern.

You can order a replacement if your tag is not working, or you sold your vehicle and left the tag inside.

To order a replacement tag or a tag holder, log in and select ‘Manage Vehicles and Tolling’.

Click on the ‘' icon next to the vehicle and select ’More Tag Options ‘. Please return your old tag to the following address, free of charge, to avoid a €20 plus VAT non return fee.

Once ordered, your new tag should arrive within 5 working days and will work immediately on the M50. However, it may take up to 2 working days to work on all other Irish toll roads.

Firstly, remove the vehicle from your eFlow account.  You can raise a query online relating to any M50 toll charges incurred since the ownership of your vehicle changed.  You will need to provide evidence of the ownership change for any refund to be considered.

If you’ve recently sold the vehicle, please ensure the ownership details have been updated, otherwise you may receive unnecessary penalties.

To add, remove or replace your vehicles, log in to your eFlow account and select ‘Manage Vehicles, Tags and Tolling’.  From here you can review and update your vehicles as well as make changes to your tolling preferences.  

By clicking on the ‘’ icon, you can replace/remove a vehicle, switch tag to another vehicle or explore more tag options. The tag will only work on the assigned vehicle.

If you are removing a vehicle with a tag, you can switch the tag to another vehicle or return the tag.

You can return your tag to the following address free of charge to avoid a €20 plus VAT non return fee.
