How it Works
The M50 toll road is owned by Transport Infrastructure Ireland. The tolling revenue collected is a vital source of funding for operating and maintaining the national road network.

The M50, barrier free, toll operates in both directions and is located between junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and junction 7 (N4 Lucan). Cameras positioned on the overhead gantry captures the vehicle registration numbers of all vehicles, allowing toll charges to be applied to the registered keeper.
When you pass through the tolling point you will be liable to pay the M50 toll by 8pm the next day to avoid unnecessary penalties. If you don’t have a registered account, you can make a payment online here.
The M50 toll applies to all road users, including tourists to the country. If you are travelling in Ireland and pass through the M50 toll point, then you must pay your toll before 8pm the following day, to avoid unnecessary penalties.
Many of the larger rental companies operate a ‘company pays’ model so you don’t have to worry about paying tolls, however it is important you confirm with the rental company who is responsible for paying the tolls prior to using any tolls roads. If you are responsible, then you must pay your toll before the 8pm next day deadline, to avoid unnecessary penalties.
There are several convenient ways to pay your toll:
- On-line at www.eflow.ie/
- At any retail outlet where you see the Payzone logo
- Download the eFlow: My Tolls app on your mobile phone
The following vehicles are exempt from paying the M50 toll. If one of these vehicles passes through the M50 toll, eFlow’s system will automatically recognise it and there will be no charge.
Please note: Eligible motorists can register for the Disability Toll Exemption Scheme to receive an exemption on toll roads nationwide. For more details on the application process click here.
